Each residence hall provides a unique on-campus living experience. Numerous programs and activities are presented throughout the semester by our energetic, dedicated Residence Life staff. Residence Life allows Anna Maria students to build lasting friendships and memories within an environment that fosters diversity, leadership and opportunities.
Residence life at Anna Maria College is guided by our philosophy:

Housing ProcessHousing Process
Anna Maria College provides housing for full-time undergraduate students. Any questions regarding the Housing Application process should be directed to the Office of Residence Life.
For Incoming Students
We are excited to welcome our incoming students to life on campus! Housing assignments for incoming students are based upon the date the student deposits to the College. To apply for housing, complete the Housing Agreement. The Housing Agreement provides an opportunity for students to share their housing preferences, request a roommate and provide information that our staff will use to help pair you with a roommate if needed. The Housing Agreement also outlines the policies and expectations for residential students.
Incoming students should complete their Housing Agreement no later than Friday July 22nd, 2022. Housing assignments and roommate information will be sent to all incoming students via their AMC email account no later than August 1st.
We recommend that New Resident Students review this list to assist with items that you will need as you plan to move on campus this fall.
For Upperclass Students
Upperclass students select their housing assignments by participating in the housing lottery. The dates for the housing selection 2022-2023 academic year will take place April 5 & 7, 2022.
How does Housing Lottery work?
Roommates will use the lowest number assigned (this means that current seniors will be assigned the “best” numbers, juniors the next group of numbers and so on). The numbers assigned to a student cannot be transferred to another student.
Numbers will be called on the night of Housing Lottery in order, beginning with one (1). A resident and his/her roommate(s) must be present within one minute of his/her number being called or he/she will be housed at the end of the lottery.
The resident whose number is called will go with his/her roommate(s) to the lottery table. The students will choose their room from all remaining rooms. Students will have one minute at the lottery table to choose their room before the next number is called.
This year the lottery will be done over the course of two nights: Monday, March 26th (Singles and Suites) and Tuesday, March 27th (Double Rooms).
I need to cancel my housing. What do I do?
To cancel the Housing Agreement, the student must apply in writing to the Residence Life Office. The room deposit is refundable as a credit to the student’s Anna Maria account through May 1st and non-refundable after May 1st. After June 1, cancellation of the Housing Agreement will result in a charge of $500. Please refer to the Housing Agreement for more details.
I’m in need of a single due to medical needs. What should I do?
Medical need is reviewed and assessed by the Director of Health Services and the Office of Residence Life.
The application process is the same for all students. However, the application timeline will vary for new and returning students.
Returning students will receive information on the medical housing process and timeline when Housing Selection information is sent each year.
Incoming students applying for medical housing should do so no later than July 15th.
In order to apply for medical housing all students must follow the steps below:
- Please complete the medical housing request form found here.
- Please submit a letter of support from your provider to Health and Counseling Services.
- Your letter can be emailed or faxed to Health Services
- You letter should include a brief summary of what you are being treated for, why you are in need of a medical single, and how the medical single will benefit you as a student.
Students are required to submit a medical housing application each year.
Living Learning Communities
Living Learning Communities (or LLCs for short) are intentional communities where students of common interests or academic backgrounds live together. Participation is optional and only a short application is needed to join a community. For the 2020-2021, academic year we are excited to offer two new communities in the first year and transfer area.
Benefits of participating in a LLC include feeling an immediate sense of connection to both Anna Maria and your residential community. You will be living with students with similar interests and have opportunities to build close knit relationships with a variety of faculty and staff members. There will be additional social programs for your specific community and research shows that students who participate in LLCs often have a higher GPA and higher retention rate than their peers.
Residence Halls
Alumni & Coghlin Hall
Alumni and Coghlin Halls house upper-class residents in a mix of single and double rooms. Coghlin Hall features air conditioning with individual room controls. The two buildings share numerous large common areas as well as a kitchen and laundry room
Madonna Hall
St. Anne Hall
St. Anne Hall houses 200 students in a state-of-the-art, suite-style setting. The 63,000 square-foot Hall is comprised of three floors with two residential halls per wing. Common areas are located in the central core and include lounges, laundry rooms, study rooms, a kitchen, a resident director’s office, a workroom, lobbies, a central staircase, and an elevator. St. Anne Hall has 35 student suites with 63 double rooms and 69 single rooms.
South Hall
Opened In August 2008, South Hall is air-conditioned and offers a mix of double and single rooms. The large main lounge has a flat screen television, kitchenette and plenty of room for group study or group activities.
