Graduate Assistant for Student Employment
Part-Time (17 hours per week: 12 months a year)
SUMMARY: The graduate assistant for student employment will help the financial aid and human resources team manage the student employment program at Anna Maria College including Federal Work Study. The incumbent will also provide direct assistance to students navigating the job search and hiring process as well as collaborating with community partners to fulfill the community service requirement for the Federal Work Study program.
Employee reports to the Director of Financial Aid
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with financial aid and human resources to streamline the student employment process and document policies and procedures related to student employment
- Maintain up to date listing of openings for student employment positions
- Work collaboratively with financial aid and human resources staff to maintain compliance in all student employment functions
- Provide guidance to faculty and staff who are serving as hiring managers during all steps of the hiring process
- Assist students in identifying open positions and navigating the application and interview process
- Collaborate with other campus stakeholders to organize an annual student job fair
- Assist students in completing necessary HR paperwork required for employment
- Serve as a resource to students answering basic financial literacy and budgeting questions, especially those related to their earnings through the student employment program
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively use computer technology in all operations, including website modifications
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets
- Strong interpersonal skills required, excellent oral and written communication skills necessary
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task and complete responsibilities in a timely manner
- Willingness to learn new tasks
