Dear Members of the Class of 2020:
As we navigate the Covid-19 pandemic, we remained hopeful that we would be able to hold Commencement on campus on August 22, 2020. Despite our best efforts, it has become clear that it will not be possible to do so in a manner that ensures everyone’s safety. Therefore, we have made the decision to celebrate Commencement virtually.
Our virtual Commencement will be pre-recorded and debuted on August 22, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. The link to the ceremony will be on www.annamaria.edu/commencement.
We will also have the opportunity to spotlight each graduate in a slide show presentation during the ceremony. Please watch for a separate email where you will receive a link to enter your information and upload your photo to have your name and photo included! The regalia for on-ground undergraduates has been shipped from campus this week, I encourage you to use a photo in your regalia for this slide show.
The final steps in your journey towards graduation may have looked different than you imagined, but you persevered. Your accomplishment deserves recognition, and we hope that you will join us as we gather virtually as a community to celebrate YOU! In the meantime, we encourage you to post photos of yourself in your cap and gown and tag @goannamaria.
The Registrar’s Office has received the diplomas and will begin mailing those out next week to all who have fulfilled their academic and financial obligations.
Sincerely,
Mary Lou Retelle
President
