Major: Criminal Justice

What do you want to do with your CJ degree?
I’m hoping to be in the U.S. Marshals. I was seeking a career that helped people and that caught dangerous people and held them to justice.
Why I Chose Anna Maria:
I play soccer and I was on this recruiting app when I received a notice that Anna Maria College was hosting a Zoom Q&A with federal law enforcement officers and CJ professionals. It is a 46-hour drive from my home in Washington State to Paxton, but I knew I had found the place for me.
What is it like being a student-athlete?
I am a center defender on the soccer team, and I like it a lot. It helped me make friends faster because you have a team of people who you play with and you spend so much time with, especially during season but even out of season. So, it’s more of just like a family.
What has been your biggest accomplishment at Anna Maria?
I’ve only been here for two years, and I came in as a transfer. When I came in, I had dual enrollment from my high school, so I had my associate degree already. So, my greatest accomplishment is that I’m going to graduate in May with my bachelor’s and I’m only 20, which I think is impressive. I am also enrolled in Anna Maria’s 5th option so I am taking graduate courses during my senior year and will graduate with my master’s as well. I am also the President of Anna Maria’s CJ Club.
Favorite Anna Maria memories:
Every soccer season has been like one of my favorite times of the year at Anna Maria. Just being with my team and being able to compete against other schools is such a relief and where I find my joy. So, my favorite memories are made anytime I get to be with my soccer team and playing on the soccer field.
