Dashawn Allen is a student athlete from Teaneck, NJ who is a football player and Criminal Justice major. His lifelong passion for sports brought him to Anna Maria College, where he is excited about getting ready to graduate and his future football career prospects.

Why did you choose Anna Maria for your degree?

Anna Maria recruiters reached out to me, and I really enjoyed the campus during my first official tour. The people were nice, and they gave me the chance to continue playing football.

What do you love about your major?

Originally, I came to Anna Maria College as a Sports Management major, but I changed my path and switched to Criminal Justice since I have always been interested in working personal security details. Criminal Justice fits into what I want in the future.

What is your favorite Anna Maria College memory?

Part of my college years were during the Pandemic, and though it was stressful, I enjoyed being on a college campus and meeting people. Every day was different in a good way, and I had a unique experience.

What are your plans for the future after graduation?

I am in talks with a few teams about the possibility of playing football on a professional level. My dream would be to play for the NFL. I am very hopeful for a future opportunity to continue my passion for football, but I am also focused on personal security jobs as a backup.
