Anna Maria College has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) to streamline the process for qualified Anna Maria seniors to enter an MPTC academy. This partnership is a significant step forward for aspiring law enforcement officers in Massachusetts, providing a clear educational path to a meaningful career.

MPTC Invests in the Future of Law Enforcement

“The MPTC is committed to investing in the future generation of law enforcement officers who will serve and protect the great communities across the state.,” said MPTC Executive Director Robert Ferullo (Ret. Police Chief). “This partnership with Anna Maria College is a continued effort to support opportunities for individuals to embark on the journey to a meaningful career in law enforcement through different avenues like undergraduate and graduate criminal justice programs.”

Anna Maria College: Preparing Students for Success

Anna Maria College’s criminal justice program is designed to prepare students for success in law enforcement. Small classes and faculty who are experts in their fields foster the interchange of ideas about real-world topics and experiences. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and a dedication to justice. Coursework emphasizes intellectual involvement, career preparation, social awareness, and dedication to peace and justice. Through this agreement, eligible Anna Maria seniors will have the opportunity to work with faculty to prepare for the MPTC admission process.

“This agreement with MPTC expands opportunities for our students as they look to transition from college to a career dedicated to serving and protecting their communities,” said Dave Armstrong, Senior Advisor to the Criminal Justice program at Anna Maria College. “With a diverse student body and a strong focus on service in our criminal justice program, we believe that Anna Maria graduates enter the workforce well-prepared to contribute to their organizations and succeed.”

A Commitment to Community

This MOU is another example of Anna Maria College’s commitment to developing strong relationships with public safety organizations. The college believes these collaborations benefit both their students and the communities they serve. Notably, Anna Maria College is one of the first four-year colleges in Massachusetts to partner with MPTC on this initiative.
