We are thrilled to have our students back on campus! Be sure to get involved in the many events and activities that Student Life has organized. A new opportunity starting this fall is the Anna Maria Common Hour. From 3-4 p.m. every Monday, the Common Hour will be a class-free period scheduled each week that will feature a variety of programs. The first Common Hour is scheduled for September 9th. We also encourage you to support our college athletic teams. Athletics are a cornerstone of the college experience and our student-athletes are primed for competitive seasons.

To make the most of your college experience as a first year or returning student, consider the following tips.

Stay Organized. Use a planner or digital calendar. Review each class syllabus. Note assignment due dates and tests. Add faculty office hours, club meetings, holidays, and important dates.

Get to know your professors and advisors. Schedule meeting with them and take advantage of the personal faculty-student dynamic we have at Anna Maria.

Keep tabs on your physical, mental and spiritual health. Eat well, exercise, make time for rest, and visit the chapel. Make appointments with Health and Counseling and Campus Ministry as needed.

Ask about other resources. Student Academic Support Resources (SASS) provides tutoring, writing support, and much more. The library is not only about research. Our librarians have a wealth of knowledge to help you stay on track with assignments. Student Life, Resident Life, International Student Services, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion are also excellent resources. Not sure about something? Ask any Anna Maria employee for help.

We hope you all have a great start to the semester. Stay up-to-date on events and activities by visiting our online calendar. This year promises to be full of opportunities, experiences, and memories waiting to be made.
