Why did you select Anna Maria College as your graduate school?

Choosing Anna Maria as my graduate school was an easy decision. Anna Maria was highly recommended by several other graduates of different studies. In addition, a well-respected retired Anna Maria professor always spoke very highly of the College, and this professor holds a very special place in my mom’s heart.

What are your favorite things about the MSW program?

I will always look back on my time in the MSW program with fond memories and a deep appreciation for the incredibly engaged and supportive staff. The small classroom sizes afford us the opportunity to speak and be heard. I feel our insight, thoughts, and needs are respected and valued. And who doesn’t love the MSW program swag!

What do you hope to achieve in the future with your graduate degree?

With my graduate degree I hope to obtain my LCSW licensure and go on to obtain my LICSW. I plan to pursue my passion and continue down the path of medical social work.

Where do you currently work and what do you enjoy about your career?

I am currently interning at Notre Dame Pedi Pals, a hospice and palliative care program for children. I enjoy having the opportunity to work collaboratively with professionals across a variety of different specialties who provide high quality care to some of the most vulnerable patients and their families.

What is the most rewarding aspect of being a social worker?

The most rewarding aspect of being a social worker is the opportunity to pursue my passion of fighting social injustices at both the macro and micro level.

What should prospective students know about Anna Maria’s MSW program?

The MSW program at Anna Maria offers highly supportive administrative staff members and professors. The small class size allows for a personalized student-centered experience. The internship program is excellent, and the staff work hard to align your experiences with your area of interest.
