Hello! My name is Luke Joseph ‘28, and I am a first-year student here at Anna Maria College! I am a Fire Science major and a member of the AMCAT Baseball Team from Plymouth, Massachusetts.
I chose Anna Maria College because of the knowledge and real-world experiences held by the faculty. This was a pivotal factor in my decision to attend. Being a Fire Science major requires skillful training and education, I was looking for a sense of community that had a desire to teach students how to be ethical leaders and give back to those in need. This is exactly what I found at Anna Maria College! In just a short time, I have already been impacted by the many outstanding stories shared by the professors from their careers in fire service.
I have discovered many of the exciting opportunities presented to students here at Anna Maria and already experienced the benefits of getting involved in the on-campus community! Being a student-athlete, I find myself at baseball practice, in the gym, or enjoying team bonding activities. The lifestyle of a student-athlete at Anna Maria furthers leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. I also look forward to being involved in both the Campus Ministry and Community Outreach departments, as I hope to give back to the surrounding communities in need.
The college staff has supported me by answering all my questions, helping me understand the responsibilities of a college student, and encouraging me to make enjoyable memories and social connections! I am very thankful for the Anna Maria leadership, faculty, and all other campus employees who help provide a sense of comfort to the students.
The Anna Maria College experience is a transformative and impactful journey to beginning our careers. I look forward to using the knowledge I will learn here at Anna Maria, in real-world situations. I cannot wait to see the impact that we, the Class of 2028, can one day make in the world!
