Bio
Dr. Ingyu Moon is a highly accomplished social work educator and licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in academic and professional settings. He earned his Ph.D. in Social Work from Simmons University He also holds an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, specializing in Mental Health Practice and Policy. Currently, Dr. Moon is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at Anna Maria College, where he teaches both MSW and BSW courses and contributes to various research initiatives. His professional experience spans multiple roles, including Director of a counseling program at Family Touch in New Jersey, where he oversees clinical services and program development. Dr. Moon has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented his research at national and international conferences. His work primarily focuses on mental health disparities, health-related quality of life, and the social determinants of mental health among diverse populations. He is also actively involved in community service as the President of the New York/New Jersey Korean American Behavioral Health Association (KABHA).

Research Interests:
Dr. Ingyu Moon's research interests lie at the intersection of mental health, physical activity, and social determinants of health, with a particular focus on marginalized and underserved populations. He is particularly interested in exploring how psychological distress and physical activity influence the health-related quality of life among individuals with serious mental illness. Dr. Moon also investigates mental health disparities, especially among immigrant communities, and how social determinants such as socioeconomic status, cultural factors, and access to care impact mental health outcomes. His work often employs advanced statistical methods, such as moderated mediation analysis, to unravel complex relationships between mental health, comorbid conditions, and overall well-being. Dr. Moon is committed to developing evidence-based interventions that can be integrated into community mental health settings to improve the quality of life for those living with mental illness.
