Synthetic Turf Baseball Venue and Multipurpose Field

Athletics are an integral part of the Anna Maria experience, uniting our community on the field and in the stands, and enhancing wellness, focus, productivity, and leadership among student-athletes. As they learn from caring coaches, practice and compete, our student-athletes pursue individual and group excellence with character and integrity, and discover the value of collaboration, teamwork, and victories that can’t be measured on a scoreboard. This complex will be the home of the AMCAT Baseball team, as well as utilized by men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse, as well as the women’s field hockey team. This on-campus facility will provide a richer experience not only for our students, but for our wider community as well.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

Thank you for joining us on Saturday, October 1, 2022 for the official groundbreaking ceremony of the new athletic complex. An extra special thanks to our MC, Kevin Shea from Spectrum News, Deacon Jack Franchi for his opening prayer, Trustee Tim Murray, and the students, spectators, alumni and community members who joined us.

We will be providing periodic updates as the field is being built. The field is set to be ready for Fall 2023!

Synthetic Turf Multipurpose Field

The new field will meet the high demand for additional outdoor athletic facility space for student-athletes, assist in recruiting high level student-athletes in a competitive recruiting environment, and meet the needs of the entire campus community. It will be a field available for rental to the community and allow Anna Maria to host NCAA and GNAC conferences and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) tournaments. We will host fans, spectators, parents and families of players and the alumni throughout New England.

This project will include the addition of

• Two bullpens
• Backstop and netting
• Two 40’ foul poles
• Scoreboard
• Field and site lighting
• Team benches

Field Renderings

The renderings and design have been completed by Derck & Edson, a top architectural firm, specializing in college campuses, and athletic facilities.
