Professional Development for Music Educators
Welcome to the online home of the collaboration between the Kodály Music Institute and Anna Maria College.
Music educators can earn a Masters of Education with Kodály Music Emphasis. Those who already hold a Masters degree may continue their study with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Education with Kodály Music Emphasis.
The Masters of Education degree requires 3 summers (18 Graduate Credits) of Kodály Music Certificate courses. All 18 credits may be applied to Anna Maria College’s Masters Degree in Education. Students must apply separately and be accepted in both the Anna Maria Masters of Education degree program and KMI.
In order to transfer the credits, students must complete the Kodály Music Teaching Certificate with Distinction that includes the Capstone research project of the Annotated Song Collection.
The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) program represents continued in-depth study in an area relevant to the student’s own teaching. Those who completed a Kodály Music Teaching Certificate before 2017 may transfer 6 credits towards the 24-30 credit CAGS coursework at Anna Maria College and the Kodály Music Institute. All transfer credits would need to be approved by the program directors.
