IT Helpdesk Technician

Anna Maria College is looking for an entry-level IT Helpdesk Technician. The successful candidate will be diligent, punctual, reliable, and local to the Paxton, MA area.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Answering basic tech support questions received via phone, email, and walk-in
  • Performing Remote Troubleshooting through Diagnostic Techniques
  • Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users
  • Sending more difficult questions to appropriate team members
  • Following up with customers and providing feedback
  • Walking users through the problem-solving process
  • Resetting passwords
  • Assisting users with classroom, office, and lab technology such as PC5, printers, IP phones,

WiFi, & Audio/Visual:

  • Basic maintenance of computers, printers, and audio/visual equipment
  • Inventory maintenance
  • Audio/visual setups for classes and events
  • Occasional off-hours incident response and scheduled event assistance
  • Maintain Technical Documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Contacts:

  • Will communicate with Employees and Students
  • Access to Residence Halls
  • May deal with vendors in person or over the phone
  • May be a member of at least one technology committee on campus

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Help Desk Technician or other Customer Supporting role
  • Working knowledge of common computer systems and mobile devices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Punctuality and diligence; detail oriented and well organized; good work habits
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions with a demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to independently follow up on scheduled and open issues
  • Customer-Oriented and cool-tempered
