Anna Maria College is looking for an entry-level IT Helpdesk Technician. The successful candidate will be diligent, punctual, reliable, and local to the Paxton, MA area.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Answering basic tech support questions received via phone, email, and walk-in
- Performing Remote Troubleshooting through Diagnostic Techniques
- Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users
- Sending more difficult questions to appropriate team members
- Following up with customers and providing feedback
- Walking users through the problem-solving process
- Resetting passwords
- Assisting users with classroom, office, and lab technology such as PC5, printers, IP phones,
WiFi, & Audio/Visual:
- Basic maintenance of computers, printers, and audio/visual equipment
- Inventory maintenance
- Audio/visual setups for classes and events
- Occasional off-hours incident response and scheduled event assistance
- Maintain Technical Documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Contacts:
- Will communicate with Employees and Students
- Access to Residence Halls
- May deal with vendors in person or over the phone
- May be a member of at least one technology committee on campus
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Help Desk Technician or other Customer Supporting role
- Working knowledge of common computer systems and mobile devices
- Strong communication skills
- Punctuality and diligence; detail oriented and well organized; good work habits
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions with a demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to independently follow up on scheduled and open issues
- Customer-Oriented and cool-tempered
