Head Field Hockey Coach
The Head Field Hockey Coach role is to oversee all areas of team management and administrative tasks. The head coach’s responsibilities include but not limited to overseeing all team activities, supervising games and assisting with planning of practices, game scheduling, game film, recruitment of prospective student athletes, academic advising, maintaining records, travel/food arrangements, fundraising, alumni engagement and other duties assigned by the athletic department.
The head coach will ensure a positive team environment and ensure students, facilities and training equipment are adequately prepared. A head coach should be highly organized, an exceptional mentor and dutifully support the college and athletic department mission.
Head Coach Responsibilities:
- Organizing game contests and schedule of practice sessions
- Plan practice sessions and game film
- Preparing and maintaining training equipment and facilities
- Recruitment of students for the program
- Monitoring and evaluating team performance
- Maintaining records of students, training sessions, games, performance statistics, and equipment
- Academic advising and ensuring academic success
- Student-athlete retention
- Alumni relations and outreach
- Fundraising
- Budget preparations and budget oversight
- Facilitating and supervising training sessions and individual workouts
- Organizing travel arrangements including transport, accommodation, and meals
- Building a positive team environment
Head Coach Requirements:
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Familiar with NCAA rules and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license
Salary Range: $47,000-$50,000
