Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, the Director of Graduate Admission and Community Corporate Outreach will lead and administer comprehensive strategic student recruitment, admissions program, budgeting, and digital marketing materials while overseeing the daily operations of the Graduate Admissions office. The Director will be responsible for working with the enrollment team and Graduate Academic Program Directors in developing new growth initiatives for graduate programs while meeting targeted enrollment goals. The college seeks to grow its graduate enrollment in all of its various programs.
The Director will also work closely with but not limited to Graduate Admission Program Directors, the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of Financial Aid, campus faculty, and business partners to support recruitment efforts for both graduate and undergraduate students. S/he will interact daily with prospective and current students and regional business and higher education community leaders. S/he will be responsible for direct outreach to business partners and organizations to build enrollment and potential onsite training within these organizations.
Specifically, the Director works collaboratively with the VPEM in the implementation and oversight of the college’s strategic plan and other enrollment-related goals for the college. This includes collaboration with program directors, internal faculty, and staff. S/he will work to create and implement new community partnerships, including the development of memorandums of understanding with area organizations, and articulation agreements with area colleges, and will also develop relationships with prospective corporate, non-profit, and government entities.
The Director will work to develop print and digital marketing materials, as well as provide oversight for and assist in, maintaining updated events, admission, and recruitment information on the college website for GRAD programs. The Director will work closely with the enrollment team as it continues its development of the SLATE system for expanded use to assist with recruitment at the college. The Director will support the collection and analysis of data and other metrics and will coordinate and develop programs to support graduate recruitment goals.
This position will administer and oversee all aspects of the GRAD Enrollment Management operating budget, maintain up-to-date strategic and operational policies, procedures, and practices for the enrollment management areas in alignment with current and emerging industry best practices, and assure policies, procedures, and practices are in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations, and the goals and objectives.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of professional work experience in higher education (private college or university preferred) in an administrative or supervisory capacity with evidenced by progressive job responsibilities and demonstrated program growth and development. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to engage in networking, recruitment planning and implementation, data and trend analysis, and program development. Additionally, they will have significant experience in developing and implementing complex enrollment management activities, including non-traditional/adult graduate admissions, recruitment, and marketing. A Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is required. In addition, the Director should have excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively represent the college’s mission, and strategic plan to both external and internal audiences and stakeholders. The candidate must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students; and an appreciation and commitment to the history, values, and mission of Anna Maria College. Knowledge and experience with computer-based admissions tracking software (Slate and Empower), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), and other applicable technologies including the use of social media for marketing and advertising are expected.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitors and recommends academic trends for growth within the undergraduate and graduate majors to provide forecasting and analysis of current and potential new enrollment opportunities.
- Participates in the identification of achievable enrollment, community, and corporate outreach goals.
- Meeting targeted enrollment goals and developing new initiatives.
- Meeting with and recruiting prospective students and participating in all Graduate admission events.
- Developing and managing all activities related to new student recruitment, including but not limited to developing relationships with employers, churches and businesses, current students and alumni, and other organizations. Planning and organizing recruitment events.
- Using information technologies including database management tools and web-based marketing initiatives in recruitment efforts. Reporting skills are a must as is strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Slate is a plus.
- Managing the implementation of the recruitment communication plan i.e. mailings, e-mails, and calls to ensure outstanding customer service.
- Ability to travel. Automobile license in good standing.
