POSITION TITLE: Director of Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program

SUMMARY: The Director of BSW Program manages all aspects of the social work program, including both academic and professional preparation per accreditation standards from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
NATURE AND SCOPE:
In fulfilling the responsibilities of this office, the Director shall preside over all regular and called meetings of the faculty of BSW program; supervise the curricula, courses, and methods of instruction and work with faculty for improvement; implement the purposes of social work education consistent with those of Anna Maria College and the accreditation policies of CSWE.
Must have organizational skills to promote collaboration and teamwork within the Social Work Program, the campus, and professional community. Provide evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills, sensitivity to and understanding of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disabilities and ethnic backgrounds of a diverse student body. Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain academic programming, quality curricula development, and effective judicial process. The position requires ability to maintain the highest levels of integrity at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages undergraduate Social Work Program
- Assesses programs for viability and growth
- Observes faculty and facilitates ongoing performance management
- Reviews syllabi for all Social Work courses
- Monitors data and records retention for accreditation and licensure
- Collaborates with the Field Placement Director to ensure appropriate field placements for licensure
- Advances scholarship through research and professional development
- Attend Deans and Directors meetings to ensure college protocols and program requirements are implemented and information is funneled to faculty and staff
- Attends faculty meetings and appropriate college community events
- Collaborates with Admissions to recruit new students for the Social Work Program
- Onboard new students into the undergraduate program
- Advises students to monitor degree audits to ensure graduation and licensure requirements are met
- Schedules courses and course instructors each semester
- Oversees and monitors department budget and authorizes purchases
- Carries a 3/3 teaching load
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master degree in social work or related field from an accredited college or university (MSW or Ph.D or DSW preferred)
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW) required, and licensure is in good standing
- Working knowledge of accreditation standards through the Council of Social Work Education
- Working knowledge of the licensure process through the ASWB for social work students at the bachelor and master level
- Three or more years of college teaching experience (demonstrated ability to teach face to face and in remote environment if needed)
- Evidence of academic administration experience (preferred)
- Strengths in strategic planning, leadership, budgeting, and management (preferred)
