Abigail Wamboldt explores figurative elements to discuss the constant endurance of human existence. She specifically emphasizes the expectations of women in western culture, and explores issues surrounding sexual development and orientation.

She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montserrat College of Art in Drawing and Painting, And a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the University of New Hampshire. She currently lives in Providence Rhode Island and teaches studio art at several universities and colleges in New England. She is a recipient of the Edwin and Mary Scheier Art Ward which allowed her to travel to Italy, and is a member of the artist collective Hera Gallery and Education Foundation. She exhibits with organizations that promote innovation, experimentation and dialogue.
