A 2021 honorary degree recipient and New York Times best-selling author and illustrator Jarrett J. Krosoczka first spoke publicly about his mother’s addiction to heroin and his childhood growing up with his grandparents in a widely shared TED Talk. Hey, Kiddo, Jarrett’s celebrated graphic memoir for young adults, digs deeper into his childhood and teen years, a period of time in which art became a lifeline and a way to process his mother’s battles and the absence of his birth father. Learn how Jarrett created this deeply heartfelt memoir through research, revisions, courage, and a unique artistic process.
Jarrett’s lecture will be held virtually and while it’s open to the public, registration is required. Upon registration, a link to the event will be sent via email.
This lecture series is the legacy of Edith Mooney LaVigne ’63 a beloved alumna and Anna Maria College Trustee.
