Graduate program applications are accepted throughout the academic year and will be reviewed by the admissions committee and the appropriate graduate program director. Graduate admission is both competitive and fair, where the College uses a holistic approach to identify an applicant’s motivation and ability to be a successful graduate student. Applications are reviewed for completeness based on the totality of the candidate’s profile, including prior academic success, work experience, personal statements about your interest in the program, and supportive references or letters of recommendation.
Applicants applying for admission will receive a User ID and Password to the AMCAT Admission Portal Account. Please keep this information available as you will be able to track the information required to complete your application in the portal. Admissions decisions will be mailed and will be posted in the portal on a rolling basis.

Graduate Degree & Certificate Programs
- Application: Apply using the Anna Maria College Online Application.
- Undergraduate Degree: Provide evidence of an earned undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited United States college or university, or an equivalent degree from a nationally accredited institution outside the United States.
- Two References: For all programs (except for Social Work), submit the names and contact information of two references acquainted with the applicant’s ability and aptitude for graduate study. In cases where a student may have been away from an academic setting for several years, employers and supervisors may be a reference. Social Work requires three letters of reference – two academic references from the last school of attendance and one from a non-relative (Advanced Standing Students: one from the program director, one from the field director, and another from the field supervisor. If the field supervisor is not available a copy of the field evaluation may be submitted).
- 2.7 GPA or Higher: Provide evidence of a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 and an undergraduate record that demonstrates your ability to be successful in graduate studies. For Social Work applicants, when applying for the full program and/or advanced standing, a GPA of 3.3 is requested to be waived from any course to be retaken.
- Personal Statement: Provide, in writing, a personal statement (minimum 500 words) that demonstrates your commitment to graduate studies and reflects your writing skills. Note: For law enforcement officials applying to the Master’s in Criminal Justice program, the personal statement is recommended, but not required.
- Standardized Testing: Although not required for admission, standardized testing such as MAT, GRE, or GMAT scores may be submitted for additional consideration.
- $40 Application Fee
Note: For Social Work applicants only, a personal interview with the program director is also required as part of the admissions process.

Integrated Media Arts Application Process
Must have an undergraduate degree: B.A., B.S., or B.F.A. in fields of art, media art, graphic/communication design, video, photography, film, animation, new media, or other related degrees in associated fields of study.
- Additional requirements:
400–500-word essay discussing your goals and objectives for pursuing this degree program.
- Official Transcripts from all previous U.S. colleges attended or course evaluations of any foreign transcripts.
- Professional Resume or CV
- Two letters of recommendations
- Portfolio of your work:
- 20+ representative works, all media accepted
- All works should be accompanied by a document listing the title, medium, size, time-based length, and date.

Digital media portfolios and portfolios submitted using the form above must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Images: individual .jpg files titled with your name and image number, 2MB maximum size

Graduate Scholarships and Ambassadorship
First-year, full-time students only

The Presidential Scholarship program is need-based and designed to assist outstanding, new enrolling students in their initial financial transition to Graduate School. Awards range from $1,000-$5,000 per student during their first year of study only. To apply for the Presidential Scholarship, please fill out the online form and submit a FAFSA. International students applying for the Presidential Scholarship should submit the application for the scholarship and the International Financial Aid form to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Cite accomplishments both academically and/or in business/service and how your experience, along with our program, will help you to be successful. Let us know how many courses you plan to take each semester as students must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester to be eligible.
Awards are given yearly and are to be split between the fall and spring semesters as a credit toward a student’s graduate tuition (no cash awards). They are NOT RENEWABLE into a second year of study. The awards committee will have the final say in any and all awards. Applications received after May 1 will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all funds are exhausted. The Graduate Ambassador assists the Associate Vice President for Enrollment in any and all graduate-related recruitment and admissions practices.
Assisting the associate vice president and/or graduate program directors in various admissions and recruitment projects, including researching competitive schools, use of social media, surveys, data analysis and student outreach. Responding to admissions inquiries via phone and email; assisting at on-campus information sessions; assisting in outreach and recruitment programs; and other duties as assigned.
Candidate must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects and be able to meet required deadlines. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including customer service and public speaking skills leading to the ability to present the College in a positive way to diverse adult populations.
The ideal candidate would have a strong and positive College experience as both a student and campus community member. Experience having represented a College (for example, as a Student Ambassador, Tour Guide, RA, Orientation Leader) a plus.
Ambassadors will be expected to work 10+ hours per week during the fall and spring semesters in exchange for an hourly wage of $15.00 per hour plus tuition remission of one full class and a 25% discount on a second class in each semester.

Alumni Scholarships are available to alumni of Anna Maria who enroll in an on-ground graduate program. Alumni will receive a 20% tuition discount toward the completion of their graduate on-ground tuition costs for 1 graduate degree. Recipients of outside funding (i.e. Employer Tuition Remission, Yellow Ribbon, VA, etc.) may be ineligible for this award. Additional information can be obtained through the Office of Financial Aid. Alumni scholarships are limited and are offered subject to the availability of overall graduate institutional funding.
Deadlines for enrolling to receive the Alumni Scholarship:

NOTE: Students may receive only ONE grant or scholarship from institutional funding, which includes the Presidential Scholarship, Graduate Ambassadorship/Assistantship and Alumni Scholarship. Where a student is in position to receive multiple awards, the award amount that carries the largest value will be offered.
A limited amount of on-campus housing is currently available for graduate students. Graduate housing is located in South Hall and Alumni/Coghlin Hall. More information about our residence halls can be found on the AMC Residence Life webpage. All graduate students will be housed in single rooms with a shared bathroom on the floor, as is available. Please note the building will be shared by both undergraduate and graduate students and is a traditional, double loaded corridor style building. The estimated 2022-2023 room and board rates are $8,500 per semester for a traditional single room and a 15 meals per week plan. Included in the room and board costs is free on-campus parking and on-site laundry.
Graduate housing is available on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to apply for graduate housing or have further questions, please reach out to Drew Melendez Director of Residence Life & Student Conduct. Graduate housing is not granted until it has been confirmed through the Office of Residence Life.
Students who have been accepted into a graduate program at Anna Maria College take the following steps toward enrolling:
- Submit your enrollment deposit: To secure your spot in our incoming class, a $100 deposit is required. Click here to make your deposit now.
- Receive your account credentials: After you deposit, you will be sent by mail your student identification number (needed for course registration) and instructions for accessing your school email account. Please be sure to check your AMCAT email account regularly! This is the primary form of communication used by faculty and administrative offices (such as the registrar and financial aid), so it is important for you to check your AMCAT account often for correspondence.
- Schedule an appointment with your program director: Your program director will review your curriculum map, help identify and register you for your initial courses, and will further serve as your advisor as you move forward in your studies.
- Register for Courses: To register, please click here to fill out the registration form. Please note that you will receive a confirmation from the Registrar’s Office with your schedule. Please note that payment for your class(es) is not due until a week before the session begins. Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation from the Registrar’s Office with your schedule.
- Visit campus to get your Student ID card and parking permit: Student IDs include a library bar code and can be obtained at the Student Life Office, located on the entry floor of the Student Campus Center. Free parking permits are available by registering your vehicle with the Public Safety Office in Foundress Hall. If you’ve yet to visit campus, you can also schedule a tour through our Admissions Office (508-849-3423).
- Pay your bill at least one week prior to classes starting: After you are registered for courses, you will receive an online tuition bill from our Student Accounts Office. Payment for your classes is not due until a week before the session begins. Course access will not be given until your bill has been paid. For more information on financing options, click here.
- Start your graduate classes: Anna Maria College offers three start terms where you can begin your graduate program: Fall (late-August), Spring (early-February), and Summer I (late-May).

Note: If your transcript does not match this recognized list of Bachelor degree equivalencies you must have your transcript evaluated by an independent foreign credential evaluation service. When requesting evaluation you should specify a course-by-course evaluation in American semester hours with specific notation as to those courses completed at the graduate level, and request that the evaluating agency state the highest level of education completed.
- Demonstration of English Proficiency: All international student applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate their English proficiency. Exceptions for submitting proof of English proficiency are:
They have received a degree from an accredited college or university in the US within the last two (2) years
They are permanent residents of the US (and must submit a copy of the Permanent Resident card, front and back), and have had two (2) years of education at the secondary or post-secondary level where the primary language of instruction was English.
Their first/native language is English and they are from one of the following countries:
– American Samoa
– British West Indies
– New Zealand
– South Africa
– Virgin Islands
There are multiple ways to satisfy this requirement. Applications should submit results of one of the following: TOEFL,(Paper based, IBT or TOEFL Essentials) IELTS, the Pearson Test of English (PTE) exam or Cambridge Advanced English Exam (CAE). The recommended scores for direct admission for graduate degree programs are as follows. TOEFL 80, IELTS 6.5, PTE 59 or higher. CAE 176.The admissions committee also looks closely at the academic coursework that you have completed and your overall commitment to this work. In some instances, exceptions to the listed scores are made. These exceptions are tied directly to evidence of strong achievement in your day to day academic work in the secondary school that you have attended. Results of the testing that you complete that are lower than the suggested scores may require you to take supplemental English instruction with UEI.
- Personal Statement: All international students must submit a 500-word personal statement describing their educational goals and explaining why they wish to pursue an Education in the United States.

- Certified Financial Documentation: All international students who wish to study at Anna Maria College must submit certified financial documentation from a financial institution proving that they have reliable financial support available to cover the cost of all living and school expenses while studying in the United States.
Note: All international students will be issued a SEVIS I-20 form by the College in order to study at Anna Maria College. The College will issue the form to you after receiving all of your Admission Requirements, including your passport and financial documents.
